Cash and checks accepted.
Household Hazardous Waste is accepted at Recycle Works Central and
is available from May 1 through September 30.

Aluminum
Keep cans, foil, and pie plates separate from sheeting, tubing, siding, windows, and doors, etc.
NOTE: Windows and doors MUST have glass removed.

Antifreeze
Accepted from residents only in non−returnable plastic containers no larger than three (3) gallon capacity. Limit ten (10) gallons per visit.
|
|
Appliances*
Washers, dryers, water heaters, trash compactors, dishwashers, ranges, stoves, air conditioners, refrigerators, furnaces and freezers. (See also Microwaves.)
Not accepted: gas powered/ammonia-type refrigerators
NOTES: Please deliver refrigerators, air conditioners and freezers intact. Freon is removed by certified technicians and collected on site.
*FEES:
$15 per appliance, LIMIT 5. There is a $15 surcharge for devices with more than one compressor. Ask attendant for receipt.

Batteries
Rechargeable batteries and intact, used automotive batteries are accepted. For cracked or leaking batteries, call (636) 949-7900 ext. 4271 for chemical collections (appointment required).

|
Cardboard
Corrugated cardboard. Material can be mixed with other paper and phone books.
|
|
Cartridges
Copier toner cartridges, computer printer ink jet cartridges and fax cartridges.
|
|
Clothing & Textiles
Used socks, hats, shoes, belts, purses, backpacks, t-shirts, coats, jackets, clothing, draperies, towels, sheets and bedspreads.

Computers & Peripherals
CPUs, key boards, computer mice, laptops, monitors*, scanners, copiers*, printers*, typewriters, and faxes. (See also Cartridges and Electronics.)
NOTES: LIMIT 5 computer systems per visit.

Electronics and Electric Devices
Electronics: TVs*, stereos, gaming systems, VCRs, DVDs, CDs, clock radios, cell phones, wireless headsets, chargers, batteries, ear buds, etc. (See also Computers & Peripherals.)
Electric devices: power tools, mixers, blenders, curling irons, vacuums, etc.
NOTES: You may choose to remove all personal information before dropoff, however be assured that ALL hard drives are shredded; none are resold. Cell phones are recycled as part of the Verizon Wireless HopeLine Program, where refurbished phones are donated to victims of domestic violence.

Glass Bottles and Jars
Remove lids, rinse out food and separate by color: clear, brown and green. No cookware, mirrors, dishes, or Pyrex® please.

Motor Oil
Accepted from residents only, in non-returnable plastic containers no larger than two (2) gallon capacity. Limit twenty (20) gallons per visit. Oil and transmission fluid can be mixed. If cleaning fluids or solvents are in the oil, please call (636) 949-7900 ext. 4271 for hazardous waste collection.

Paper / Mixed Fiber
The following can be mixed together: cardboard, phone books, newspaper, magazines, junk mail, envelopes, colored paper, manila envelopes, white office paper, message slips, computer paper, cereal boxes, dry food boxes, etc.

Plastic
Look inside the recycling symbol: #1 − #7 is accepted (except, six pack rings, plastic bags and packaging). Includes soda bottles, milk jugs, detergent containers, clean plant pots, five gallon buckets (but does not include vinyl siding or PVC pipes).

|
Styrofoam
Styrofoam is accepted (packing Styrofoam only – no egg cartons or food containers will be accepted).
|
|
Telephone Books
Can be mixed with paper, newspapers, etc.

|
Tin Cans
Rinsed food cans only.

Transmission & Hydraulic Fluid

For curbside recycling or yard waste collection service, contact your city hall or a licensed trash hauler. All trash hauling companies are required by county ordinance to offer curbside collection, regardless of where you live.
